Program Director, Emergency Services, Gardner

CSO is looking for a Program Director for our Emergency Services team in Gardner, MA.

This is an exciting senior leadership opportunity to oversee CSO's Emergency Crisis/Respite Services program (ESP), providing clinical and administrative leadership at all levels of planning and daily operations in support of the agency's mission to provide high quality, trauma-informed, fully integrated and outcome-focused client care. The Director is responsible for managing programmatic and quality improvement objectives, developing and implementing policies and systems to maximize staff productivity and efficient and effective program service delivery.


  • Overseeing day-to-day operations of the Crisis and CCS/Respite Programs providing assessments to clients experiencing a mental health emergency;
  • Providing administrative and clinical supervision for supervisory, clinical and counseling staff;
  • Monitoring staff scheduling to maintain quality services within approved budget;
  • Overseeing recruitment, training and evaluation of clinical, nursing and counseling staff for Crisis and CCS/Respite Programs;
  • Developing and maintaining program-specific policies and procedures;
  • Monitoring compliance with managed care companies' requirements;
  • Representing the agency in communities served, ensuring positive community awareness and connection to the agency;
  • Providing effective people management, assisting staff in establishing and achieving professional goals and providing excellent performance management and coaching.


Clinical Master's degree and independent mental health licensure with a minimum of five years' experience in the evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents, adults, and families, and mental illness; comprehensive knowledge of or experience in Crisis and Respite program service delivery; minimum of three years' supervisory/management experience, including staff supervision; and excellent clinical, interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills.
