Billing & EHR Managing Specialist, Northampton

CSO is looking for a Billing & EHR Managing Specialist to join our finance team in Northampton.

This position will process and maintain data within an electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring efficient revenue cycles and compliance with healthcare regulations. The Managing Specialist creates reports to monitor financial performance, updates the billing matrix/RCM and ensures compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and billing regulations; analyzes trends in revenue collections and troubleshoot problems, with an aim to improve systems functionality, heighten billing team performance, and improve overall third party collections.

As a Billing & EHR Managing Specialist:

  • You Will:
  • Track trends in revenue and identify patterns in underpayments and overpayments. Implement system fixes and work with Director, team members and payers to ensure accuracy of payments and system.
  • Oversee RCM and Credible billing setup to align with current regulatory and programmatic updates and changes. Maintain the setup and accuracy of RCM process within the billing platform
  • Analyze and report on revenue data to provide insights into payment cycles and collection efforts.
  • Learn and apply the billing matrix with the business systems to ensure accurate coding and billing processes.
  • Ensure all billing data is entered accurately into the Credible Software system.
  • Utilize the business system tools to streamline billing operations and track payment progress.
  • Identify and evaluate write-off trends to ensure proper documentation and accurate financial records.
  • Review and assess write-off codes to improve collections and reduce financial losses.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate patient information and billing records within the software.
  • Assist with special billing and administrative projects as assigned by management.
  • Work with cross-functional teams on specific tasks or process improvements related to billing and EHR.
  • Generate and review rack rate reports to monitor billing efficiency and ensure payment alignment with rate structures.

Track and report on billing trends, identifying opportunities to improve collections and reduce outstanding balances. Ensure that all claims, write-offs, and denials are recorded and processed in time for the month-end close.

Your Background:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Computer proficiency with experience in database programs, spreadsheets, email, electronic health records and word processing
  • Previous medical billing experience
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
