Development & Volunteer Programs Manager, Springfield

CSO is looking for a Development & Volunteer Programs Manager.

This is a unique nonprofit/human services role for someone who enjoys being on the move, rolling up their sleeves, and engaging with the community.

Nonprofit behavioral health agency Clinical & Support Options (CSO) is seeking a full-time DEVELOPMENT & VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS MANAGER who will oversee volunteer and donation programs across the agency and its programs.

Your day might include:

  • Meeting with program managers to determine client needs that could be met through volunteer projects.
  • Cold-calling or emailing schools, churches, businesses, or other organizations to recruit volunteer partners.
  • Approaching businesses or groups for in-kind donations.
  • Driving a van to pick up in-kind donations or to transport clients to donated experiences (i.e., a salon day or museum trip).
  • Helping to plan and execute a fundraising or community engagement effort (i.e., golf tournament or chamber event).
  • Organizing storage of donated items or facilitating their distribution.

Job Duties:

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, and volunteers
  • Assist in solicitations and meetings with prospective funders and donors
  • Identify volunteer needs for various maintenance, services, and enrichment programs to the benefit of CSO facilities, agency clients, and Friends of the Homeless (FOH) guests
  • Develop and oversee volunteer recruitment campaign, ensuring adequate coverage of agency needs by volunteers
  • Recruit, orient, and place volunteers throughout the agency, with a focus on FOH in Springfield
  • Manage volunteer staff, overseeing scheduling, compliance, safety, etc. in accordance with agency standards
  • Oversee management and dissemination of in-kind donations (intake, processing, and inventory) on an agency-wide level, using volunteer resources and other agency avenues, such as "pop-up shops" and/or the Essential Thrift storefront
  • Ensure accurate and timely tracking of all volunteer hours and in-kind donations
  • Manage donation "Thank You" workflows, including letters, emails, etc.
  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of databases by ensuring that all information is kept "clean," current and up to date
  • Research grant opportunities and assist with the planning and/or writing of grant requests and proposals
  • Provide rapid re-housing (RRH)/housing and case management assistance as directed to individuals experiencing homelessness, or at risk of becoming homeless, so that they are able to obtain or maintain housing
  • Help plan, promote, and execute fundraising and volunteer appreciation events
  • Assist with promotional activities, especially through social media
  • Take regular volunteer and donor photos for use in social media content
  • Support media and public relations activities
  • Performs basic administrative duties, such as filing, data entry, maintaining a filing system, mailings, etc.
  • Review RRH/housing applications to determine RRH assistance eligibility, provides commitment letters, and facilitates payment process, ensuring paperwork is timely and accurately filed

Your Background:

  • High School diploma and 1-4 years of relevant experience, including experience initiating contact with prospects and coordinating and maintaining relationships
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • Previous management experience
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
