Manager of Day Center and Recovery Supports, Northampton

CSO is looking for a Manager of Day Center and Recovery Supports.

This position will provide oversight and management for the Friends of the Homeless (FOH) Day Center and Recovery support services, assisting with access of services with guests and coordinating and collaborating with other FOH departments and programs; manage operational and safety/security needs of the center in conjunction with supervisor; serve as part of FOH management team to enhance recovery supports and overall safety and security of campus.

As a Manager of Day Center and Recovery Supports:

You Will:

  • Recommend solutions for improving safety and security of general campus, and work collaboratively with site leadership on addressing policies to support efforts.
  • Collaborate with staff who design and/or run daily activities to ensure appropriate utilization of space and offerings to guests based on needs of guests and the day center population. Participate in special projects or special events for guests on campus as appropriate.
  • Serve as liaison for guest open meetings, including participation in resolutions and communication about steps to address guest concerns.
  • Create and facilitate workshops on safety measure for the workplace.
  • Work in a collaborative manner within/outside departments to accomplish common goals and ensure consistency of interpretation of policies/procedure and guidelines for individuals accessing the day center.
  • Initiate code system for on-site incidents when present on site.
  • Collaborate with the Senior management to update safety protocols and emergency response plans.
  • Serve as part of grievance process to hear guest complaints and facilitate appropriate investigation of issues, including implementation of solutions and ensuring transparency of grievance process.
  • Participate with FOH leadership team in policy and rules development and implementation surrounding Resource center utilization, access and use.
  • Develop staffing (recommend, hire, supervise) to support full day center coverage and activities, including weekend relief coverage.
  • Consult with other FOH programs and outside security companies regarding personnel and job expectations and training for security guards.
  • Provide recovery-oriented support to persons served including groups.
  • Assist with access to treatment and linking clients to the recovery community; serve as a direct referral source to supports for achieving sustained recovery.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of community resources for sharing with individuals and supporting actions for recovery.
  • Work with supervisor to integrate the recovery perspective into site programming, team roles, and individual care decisions.

Your Background:

High School Diploma or Associate's Degree 

Three years of experience working with similar populations

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
