Medical Respite/Shelter Manager, Northampton

CSO is looking for a Site Manager for our Medical Respite Program in Northampton. This program/shelter offers CSO an opportunity to have a 10-bed Medical Respite, located centrally to the CSO service area in Northampton, MA. FOH Medical Respite team members will support guests in healing, and ultimately transitioning to appropriate housing. As the Site Manager you will be providing leadership for shelter, housing and program support operations. Program goals include ensuring a safe, secure, trauma-informed environment for shelter's guests.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all site operations including case management, housing placement and shelter operations to ensure guest/client needs are met.
  • Provide leadership and direction to staff, ensuring adequate ongoing program supervision.
  • Interview, hire and train employees as needed and in collaboration with Director; supervise assigned staff, explaining and ensuring compliance with program's shelter policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with program/agency policies/procedures and funding source requirements regarding short and long-term stays, facility standards, and performance/quality assurance measures.
  • Oversee staff recruitment, interviewing, hiring, orientation, work assignments, training, supervision, and performance management in accordance with agency policy.
  • Manage crisis intervention and resolve guest grievances, conflicts and/or emergencies. This may include on-call rotation.
  • Work with Facilities management to report and resolve building maintenance issues.
  • Oversee the shelter's Human Management Information System (HMIS) and the preparation of reports and statistical documents in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Ensure all services provided are safe and effective, and carried out in a manner that promotes the dignity and respect of each guest.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree preferred and three to five years related experience and/or training including management experience; or equivalent combination of education and progressive management experience in Human Services. Experience working with homeless or at-risk population is preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of homeless issues and ability to display a positive, non-judgmental attitude. Must be able to work flexible schedule which may include evening and weekend work, as required by program needs. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
