PACT-Youth Clinician, Pittsfield

CSO is looking for a Clinician for our PACT-Youth team in Pittsfield.

Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) is an evidence-based intensive outpatient treatment program designed to assist youth overcome the barriers to their recovery from severe and persistent behavioral health disorders. 

The goal of the PACT-Y service is to provide Youth and their Families with a comprehensive range of behavioral health services and supports that ensure the Youth can remain living in their community and prevent the need for out-of-home, residential, and/or hospital levels of care.  For young adults, whether they choose to live with another adult or on their own, the goal of PACT-Y services is to help them establish the full range of supports needed for them to live successfully in the community, including support in transitioning to DMH adult services, if needed.

The PACT-Youth Clinician will be a member of a multi-disciplinary psychiatric team, providing clinical services in assessment, treatment planning, and coordination of care. They will provide treatment, rehabilitation and support services with the purpose of enhancing the emotional well-being, stability, and social functions of program consumers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group therapy and psychoeducation in office and community settings. 
  • Assist with completion of intakes and facilitation of holding sessions/brief intervention services when needed.
  • Propose, develop, recruit and conduct substance abuse, rehabilitation and treatment groups.
  • Utilize appropriate evidence-based practices and best practices in providing individual and family interventions to the Youth Served and their Family, as indicated by the Youth's Treatment Plan. These interventions must be provided in a timely manner and at a level of intensity that supports the Youth Served in achieving their goals.
  • Provide skills training and assistance in areas of daily living activities including basic living and interactive skills, providing "in vivo" skills training, side by side assistance, vocational and pre-vocational support to clients to include identifying interests and strengths and goals, and development of individualized placements. Assist in developing communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Provide motivational counseling, prompting, and intensive support to consumers during psychiatric crises or periods of transition.
  • Provide education and support with identifying community resources including appropriate mental health, addiction and medical services, and accessing services of choice.
  • Provide assistance with developing and maintaining a "natural support network" of family and friends.
  • Provide crisis and intervention treatment services as members of mini-treatment team; work with team and individual to minimize use of inpatient psychiatric treatment via rapid access and development of hospital diversion tactics to include medication assessment and treatment, increased intensity of services, and environmental adaptation as indicated. 
  • Provide stage specific individual and group substance abuse treatment to clients with coexisting substance use disorders; coordinate admissions to structured and safe environments such as hospitals, crisis stabilization beds, respite or detox units as indicated.
  • Provide clinical and psychoeducational services and supports to address substance use and relapse issues, including screening; assessment; counseling and out-patient services; resources and information; overdose protection and harm reduction.
  • Act as a member of mini-treatment team in accordance with treatment goals and planned activities/interventions and effectively communicate with other team members regarding client care. 
  • Perform at a predetermined level of productivity.
  • Develop treatment plans and goals.
  • Maintain complete, accurate and timely records.
  • Consult/collaborate with other professionals and program teams providing services to clients. 

Qualifications

Clinical Master's degree required with post master experience preferred in treatment of adults and/or families.  Must be eligible for or hold highest level of Massachusetts' licensure in appropriate discipline, LICSW or LMHC preferred. Ability to assess progress and encourage positive change, taking into account cultural and clinical considerations; demonstrated proficiency in substance abuse/mental health treatment reflecting current treatment models and ability to seek out guidance and information to formulate and implement relevant treatment interventions when necessary. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and computer competency.  Must be able to work independently as well in a team environment, and follow through with projects. Computer proficiency required including ability to work with email, electronic health record and word processing software.  Must possess valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
