CSO is looking for a
Shelter Supervisor for our shelter, Friends of the Homeless, in Greenfield.
The Shelter Supervisor will oversee, facilitate and coordinate the activities of staff
during the hours of shelter operation. This position works with management
and staff to provide a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for shelter's
guests.
As a Shelter Supervisor:
You Will:
- Review shelter files, notes, records, reports,
logs, medication records and other documentation for accuracy, completeness and
use of proper procedures as defined by the agency's policy
- Prepare and maintain various reports such as;
progress reports, update records; collect, prepare and deliver required
reports, records and documentation to appropriate administrative department in
a timely manner
- Support interviews, hiring and training for
employees and in collaboration with supervisor; supervise assigned staff,
ensuring compliance with program's shelter policies, procedures and
regulations.
- Assess staffing needs and plan, develop and
coordinate appropriate training
- In collaboration with Program
Director/Manager, support schedule development for evenings and overnights,
staff work assignments & ensure coverage, including call-out management
& support; working with supervisor, plan and evaluate employee's performance
- Provide guidance for all other routine
employee related matters within the Shelter, confer with manager on non-routine
personnel or other related matters affecting shelter employees
- Attend various meetings, training programs and
communicate with supervisor and other managers about the activities and needs
of the Shelter
- Plan weekly house meetings and facilitate as
directed; ensure staff receive notes from these meetings.
- Maintain bed lists and determine placement of
new guests in collaboration with supervisor
- Support conflict resolution, harm reduction efforts,
& trauma informed care, in collaboration with supervisor.
- Ensure guest adherence to guidelines and house
rules & expectations
Your Background:
- Associate's Degree or equivalent from two-year college
or one to two years related experience with homeless or at-risk
population
- Knowledge of de-escalation (conflict resolution)
methods, communication and maintaining appropriate boundaries
- Knowledge of community and social agencies for
the homeless
- Valid driver's license and reliable
transportation
