Relief/Per Diem Float Counselor – FOH Berkshire House & Respite Programs

We're hiring Relief/Per Diem Float Counselors to support two of our programs in Pittsfield: FOH Berkshire House and Respite

About the Programs:

FOH Berkshire House is a 24/7 peer-led transitional housing program staffed by counselors and case managers, providing wraparound supports for individuals navigating recovery and housing stabilization.

Respite is a 24/7 short-term residential program offering temporary housing and support services for individuals transitioning between living arrangements. Clients have access to clinicians, nursing support, psychiatric consultations, and wellness groups.

Whether you're building your experience in human services or looking for a flexible role that makes a real impact, this is a great opportunity to support clients while working with two highly respected teams.

Starting Pay: $18.50-20.50/hour

What You'll Do:

  • Build therapeutic 1:1 relationships with clients.
  • Support daily living activities including cooking, recreation, & support.
  • Participate in treatment planning and case coordination.
  • Perform hourly client checks and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Prepare meals during evening shifts and coordinate with shift team.
  • Support a safe, trauma-informed environment.
  • Help with basic program operations such as transportation and supply shopping.
  • Respond to and triage crisis calls as needed.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in Human Services or behavioral health preferred.
  • Flexibility to float between two Pittsfield program sites.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Availability for evening, overnight, and/or weekend shifts preferred.
