Workforce Development Manager, Northampton

CSO is looking for a Workforce Development Manager to join our Human Resources team in Northampton.

This position will oversee the full cycle of internship programming agency-wide and will provide related support to hiring managers with the aim of introducing new talent to the agency. The position will also create strategies and leadership initiatives designed to promote positive employee engagement and retention in a mission-driven service environment.

Starting salary: $50,000-$60,000/year

As a Workforce Development Manager:

You will:

  • Oversee internship programming agency-wide by sourcing intern candidates and providing a robust pipeline of strong talent from which to source candidates for permanent positions within the agency.
  • Develop and enhance existing internship and mentorship programs, identifying needs and ensuring adequate intern placements agency-wide; communicate and collaborate with managers as needed concerning ongoing intern placement and performance.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with area educational institutions and community partners to promote and ensure regular intern/extern placements at the agency; procure school affiliation and individual student internship agreements and serve as liaison between CSO managers and institutional intern placement contacts.
  • In collaboration with the Recruiter/HR Manager, coordinate and attend college recruiting/ networking events such as career fairs and academic departmental internship/employment events.
  • Promote agency positions to interns and facilitate intern candidate employment applications in Applicant Tracking System (ATS); compile reports from databases as needed; collect necessary paperwork and assist in procuring new hire paperwork for those who accept agency employment offers.
  • Conduct intern orientation and coordinate additional onboarding activities throughout the internship experience; serve as agency liaison with all interns to create meaningful internship experiences.
  • Plan, promote and execute intern appreciation and other intern-related educational/promotional events.
  • In collaboration with agency leadership and in line with strategic priorities, develop, implement and evaluate employee recognition and engagement initiatives with a focus on improving retention and fostering a positive work culture in a mission-driven service environment.
  • Assess program and credentialing requirements and solicit feedback regarding creative ideas and opportunities for enhanced employee learning experiences or potential career development pathways.
  • Participate in staff meetings and work with management team to ensure a high level of engagement with interns and the intern programming process.
  • Maintain intern database and ensure all information is current and up to date.
  • Assist with agency promotional activities and employee recognition events and assist HR team members with special projects as needed.
  • Serve as back-up for Recruiting Department as needed.

Your Background:

  • Prior experience in Human Resources, recruiting or marketing, and prior experience with an HRIS database/ATS
  • Experience in a behavioral health or related setting preferred
  • Professional communication skills a must, including excellent oral/written skills and business-appropriate social media skills
  • Willingness to work occasional evening or weekend events
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Computer proficiency
