Director, Low Threshold Housing, Northampton

CSO is looking for a Director for our Low Threshold Housing (LTH) program. This position has the flexibility to be based out of Springfield or Northampton, MA.

This position will provide administrative and programmatic supervision for the Low Threshold Housing program, coordinating and overseeing all collaborations of care within the agency and with property owners. This role will manage operational needs of the housing units at all sites in conjunction with supervisor, report to all contracted funding sources and regulating entities and will serve as general advocate and liaison for tenants.

As LTH Program Director:

You Will:

  • Provide leadership and direction to case management staff, ensuring adequate ongoing program supervision. Includes on call responsibilities in case of urgent program needs
  • Supervise and hire all Housing Case Managers, ensure training, oversee maintenance of job descriptions, provide direction and feedback, and any additional management reinforcements
  • Oversee all program operations including case management and housing placement operations to ensure client needs are met
  • Update and maintain client records including in Credible and in sub-program enrollments and third-party requirements
  • Maintain and update comprehensive tenant and supervisee information and documentation in the agency's electronic health record
  • Advocate for tenants with other service providers, including federal, state and city agencies and other non-profits; provide referrals to other appropriate service providers as needed. (e.g. Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare) Provide probationary and annual staff performance evaluations.
  • Participate in regular management meetings as a member of the agency's Management team; meet regularly with supervisor
  • Identify in-service training needs and arrange for them to be met, in coordination with supervisor
  • Participate in agency-wide Quality Improvement Plan, including active development and implementation of program specific Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement goals
  • Schedule and facilitate regular staff/team meetings
  • Work in a collaborative manner within/outside department to accomplish common goals and ensure consistency of interpretation of policies/procedure and guidelines for tenants
  • Maintain current knowledge of and good working relationships with other service providers with whom CSO collaborates
  • Maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries
  • Provide follow-up and crisis intervention for assigned tenants
  • Track tenant outcomes over time
  • Manage/evaluate and fulfill obligations of applicable grants and regulatory agencies. Prepare and provide regular reports on programs' progress. Ensure that programmatic and fiscal obligations are being met

Your Background:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • Experience working with individuals with issues of low-income housing, homeless populations, substance use and harm reduction, and/or mental health challenges
  • Computer proficiency
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
