Assistant Facilities Manager

CSO is looking for an Assistant Manager for our Facilities team.

This position will coordinate facilities maintenance at all program sites, and perform routine maintenance, repair and other projects as needed at various program sites. (Mostly, Friends of the Homeless in Springfield.)


  • Perform routine maintenance of building sites and related upkeep, including small repair and/or minor construction at various agency sites and property.
  • Maintain supplies and storage areas as needed.
  • Coordinate CSO property moves as necessary, including furnishings and equipment.
  • Maintain current DOT (Dept. of Transportation) certification.
  • Manage and facilitate work order processing.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for approval and processing as required.
  • Replenish bathroom supplies and light bulbs as needed.
  • Deliver messages and transport small equipment between offices.
  • Clean storage rooms as needed.
  • Paint/repaint designated areas.
  • Clean additional snow or debris from doorways or walkways as needed.
  • Perform additional lawn or garden work as needed.
  • Assist with building emergencies within and outside of regular business hours
  • Set-up conference/training/meeting rooms with chairs and tables, etc.
  • Work with Office Managers regarding progress and status of maintenance work to be done at each site.
  • Make purchases at designated stores and keep ledgers of all transactions.
  • Insure compliance of all state and federal building regulations.
  • Ensure agency van is in proper working order and keep interior vehicle space and tools neat and organized.

Self-motivated, independent individual with the ability to maintain the cleanliness and orderly condition of several office sites.  Knowledge of limited construction and electrical jobs.  Ability to work with outside contractors.  Able to supervise volunteers.  Must be able to transport small office furniture and office items to other sites in the Region.  Must be able to assist with building emergencies outside regular business hours. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.  Computer proficiency including ability to work with email and word processing software required.
