Assistant Director of Nursing, Northampton

CSO is looking for an Assistant Director of Nursing.

This position will provide leadership and supervision for agency nursing staff, and collaborate with and provide integrative consultation to program staff. This position will also provide evaluation services for program clients as needed.

Minimum Starting Salary: $90,000/year

As an Assistant Director of Nursing:

You Will:

  • Oversee the provision of health status reviews, monitoring and evaluation services for clients; evaluate or assist in the evaluation of clients in need of emergency treatment services for possible hospitalization.
  • Provide clinical and administrative training to nurses and relief nurses as necessary.
  • Oversee health education for clients as part of treatment team.
  • Work directly with the Chief Nursing Officer on targeted, agency-wide development initiatives.
  • Develop, implement and evaluate new or revised policies and procedures aimed at addressing existing or emerging needs, with approval from CEO or designee.
  • Complete necessary reports and paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Comply with DMH, DPH and other licensing authorities, and third-party payor regulations regarding record-keeping.
  • Participate in ongoing in-service training for the purpose of maintaining, developing, and sharing clinical skills.
  • Provide regularly scheduled supervision with direct reports, to include ongoing discussion of CSO values and strategies to enhance alignment within teams.
  • Attend regular supervision meetings with supervisor; actively attend and participate in Agency Management meetings.
  • Collaborate with Program and Nursing leadership on the determination of staffing patterns and staffing needs in accordance with payer requirements, program demand, and budgetary considerations.
  • Cascade information from Exec team to direct reports and from direct reports up to the Exec team as appropriate to enhance engagement and communication.
  • Collaborate with staff members of other programs and agencies in order to coordinate care; attend job-related meetings with community partners and regulatory boards/agencies.

Your Background:

  • Licensed in Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse
  • Bachelor's degree (required) Master's degree (preferred)
  • Three years of experience treating adults with serious mental illness and some experience treating adolescents and children
  • Computer Proficiency
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
