Respite Clinician, Pittsfield

CSO is looking for a Clinician for our Respite program in Pittsfield. 

Respite is a 24-hour staffed program that provides short-term, temporary housing and support services for those in transition from one living arrangement to another. Respite is a program funded by the Department of Mental Health.

Clients in Respite have access to psychiatric consultations, a mental health Clinician and medication support as well as a Nurse to provide health assessments, as needed. The program also provides a variety of wellness groups on-site to provide daily structure and connection to community and peer supports.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical services to clients in the Respite beds, including group treatment, individual treatment, family meetings, case management, case coordination with other providers, and discharge planning.
  • Conduct intake assessments and gather Respite referrals from the Crisis Team, inpatient units, and other providers as needed.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for clients in Respite beds.  Provide information and referrals to clients about other community services as appropriate, working collaboratively with Respite Team for planning (including RNs and Respite Counselors).
  • Remain conversant with current insurance providers and their requirements.  Contact insurance providers as needed to insure reimbursement for services.
  • Provide crisis evaluations of Respite clients needing assessment for level of core interventions (evaluation site may be Respite or local Emergency Department.)
  • Monitor Respite clients, including hourly bed checks and documentation, and provide closer observation as needed.

Qualifications

Clinical Master's degree required, with two years or more of experience treating individuals with a serious mental illness in a residential, crisis intervention, or psychiatric inpatient setting.  Must be experienced in assessing individuals and managing appropriate dispositions.  Computer proficiency required including ability to work with email, electronic health record and word processing software. Must be licensed or license eligible (LICSW or LMHC preferred.) Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
