Addiction Nurse Manager, Northampton

CSO is looking for an Addiction Nurse Manager for our clinic in Northampton.

The Addiction Nurse Manager supports systems to achieve the highest level of quality nursing care, through oversight of CSO clients experiencing substance use disorder.

Starting salary: $73,000-$82,000/year

As an Addiction Nurse Manager:

You Will:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate addiction treatment protocols and nursing procedures in collaboration with Program Directors with embedded addiction services
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, federal and state grant specs, using best practices in addiction care
  • Provide direct nursing care to clients experiencing substance use and mental health challenges
  • Initiate screening and standing orders for home induction on buprenorphine and comfort meds
  • Monitor clients, via telehealth/or in-person, for withdrawal symptoms to best assist clients in managing their induction
  • Use motivational interviewing and trauma-sensitive care techniques consistently.
  • Lead and mentor nursing staff in a hub-and-spoke model, with ongoing training and professional development
  • Integrate into interdisciplinary teams through warm-handovers, huddles, team meetings and grand rounds
  • Assess for and initiate internal and external referrals for any programs that would enhance client care
  • Provide medication reconciliation, assessments, and need for screenings with any change in condition or level of care
  • Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate, complete, timely documentation and reporting for audits and evaluations
  • Collaborate with community partners to address client needs
  • Strength-based care planning to include any natural supports
  • Participate in outreach, education, and advocacy efforts to reduce stigma and increase client's access to primary and specialty care, and enhance recovery capital
  • Provide in-service training for staff in appropriate treatment, intervention and support strategies.
  • Provide case consultation for staff as requested.

Your Background:

  • Must be Licensed in MA as a Registered Nurse
  • Experience treating individuals with serious mental illness and substance use disorders (preferred)
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
