ESP Shift Supervisor, Gardner

CSO is looking for a Shift Supervisor for our Emergency Services Program (ESP.)

This position will provide leadership and coordination functions for the counseling staff in collaboration with the management team. You will also fulfill regular counselor duties including care and treatment of clients utilizing program.

As an ESP Shift Supervisor:

You Will:

·  Provide mentorship for new employees in orientation, serving as a role model for other program staff

·  Champion education and training programs for Counselor Staff

·  For shift in charge, plan and ensure meals are provided to residents; coordinate with nursing staff and Directorregarding general and specific nutritional needs of the residents and coordinate shift duties with other counselor working shift during meal preparation

·  Ensure access to personal care supplies and products for clients/guests

·  Establish a 1:1 therapeutic relationship with each program client, providing support and safety for clients utilizing the program

·  Assist clients with activities of daily living, including self-care, cooking, recreation, and medication responsibilities according to individual treatment plans

·  Review and file observation check sheets, building check sheets and MABHA entries daily as applicable; report discrepancies to manager

·  Function as an active member of the CCS and/or Respite Treatment Team, on a day-to day basis, in the therapeutic setting including attending staff meetings; rotating shifts, as needed; charting and reporting on daily records; maintaining knowledge of patient's treatment plan

·  Monitor CCS and/or Respite clients, including hourly bed checks and documentation, and provide closer observation as needed; be awake and alert at all times

·  Share observations, interactions, and knowledge to develop 24-hour care plans; attend change of shift meetings and provide shift report on client activities and mental status

·  Provide guidance for all routine employee-related matters and confer with supervisor on non-routine personnel or other related matters affecting employees; address personnel issues as needed during shift and notify supervisor of issues and outcomes

·  Support schedule development and staff work assignments; provide feedback to supervisor regarding employee performance as observed and managed during shifts

·  Serve as point of contact for building, technical, client/guest, or operational issues that arise during shift; address non-critical issues directly and notify supervisor or other management staff in accordance with established procedures

·  Serve as point of contact for staff callouts after hours and weekends, and coordinate appropriate coverage with management in accordance with established procedures

·  Provide shift supervisory cross-program coverage as directed

Your Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  • High School Diploma or Associate's Degree with supervisory experience
  • Two years' experience working with mentally ill individuals (preferred) or two years of supervised internship or field placement experience at a human service agency   
  • High school diploma with a minimum of five years' experience may be substituted
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
