Clinician, Crisis Services, Greenfield

CSO is looking for full and part-time Crisis Clinicians to join our Emergency Services team in Greenfield.

Our Crisis services offer clients behavioral health assessments, intervention and stabilization (for youth, families and adults,) 24 hour availability (7 days per week,) support from professional Peers, and are a preferred alternative to hospital emergency departments. We offer these services to all individuals regardless of insurance or ability to pay. 

As a Crisis Clinician, you will work with an expert team of mental health professionals in community settings including homes, schools, and hospital emergency departments to provide trauma sensitive interventions for safety and stabilization.


  • Conduct psychiatric assessment of individuals experiencing a mental health emergency and provide appropriate disposition. Consult to medical personnel, police and other providers as indicated.
  • Organize clinical evaluations, including completion of a written report and finalizing a disposition efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Utilize external information and specialized expertise as needed.  This includes contacting providers, family, friends and significant supports of the individual being evaluated.
  • Utilize consultation when this will facilitate a more expert evaluation including contacting supervisors, psychiatrists, or CSO staff who are available for specialized consultation.
  • Respond to clients at the most natural setting that is safe and feasible following the risk guidelines of the Crisis Program.  This includes homes, schools, residential programs, group homes, nursing facilities, and other settings as needed.
  • Implement procedures for Mobile Crisis Intervention reaching out to youth and families in the most natural setting possible and using a team model.
  • Provide clinical services to residents of the Respite program including risk assessment for unplanned discharges and screening interviews for inpatient step-down admissions.  Additional clinical services to Respite clients as directed including treatment planning, clinical interviews, case management, acquiring insurance prior authorization, and discharge planning.


Clinical Master's degree required. Two years or more of experience treating individuals with a serious mental illness in a residential, crisis intervention, or psychiatric inpatient setting is preferred.  Must be experienced in assessing individuals and managing appropriate dispositions.  Computer proficiency required including ability to work with email, electronic health record and word processing software. Must be licensed or license eligible (LICSW or LMHC preferred.) Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
