Counselor, Respite Services Overnight (Full-time)

To be responsible for the care and treatment of clients utilizing the respite beds, as well as specific tasks necessary to the operation of this program.

This is an overnight position with a generous shift differential. 

Responsibilities:
  • Provide supportive counseling and safety for clients utilizing the program.

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living, including self-care, and medication responsibilities, following program procedures for clients who are awake and up on the overnight shift.

  • Function as an active member of the Respite Treatment Team, on a day-to day basis, in the therapeutic setting including:

    • Attending staff meetings;

    • Arriving as needed for rotating shifts;

    • Charting and reporting on daily records;

    • Maintaining knowledge of clients' treatment plan.

  • Monitor respite clients, including hourly bed checks and documentation, and provide closer observation as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Associates' Degree in a mental health discipline with two years' experience working with mentally ill individuals or two years' of supervised internship or field placement experience at a human service agency required.  Must be well-organized, resourceful, and able to function as a productive member of a treatment team.  Computer proficiency required including ability to work with email, electronic health record and word processing software.  Must possess valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
