Occupational Therapist, PACT Youth, Pittsfield

CSO is looking for an Occupational Therapist for our PACT-Youth team in Pittsfield.

Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) is an evidence-based intensive outpatient treatment program designed to assist youth overcome the barriers to their recovery from severe and persistent behavioral health disorders. 

This position will facilitate development and rehabilitation of youth clients with mental, emotional and physical disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed occupational therapy.

As an Occupational Therapist for PACT-Youth:

You Will:

  • Provide a consultative screening for every Youth/Family during the initial assessment 
  • Work with PACT Team Clinicians and the Youth/Family to determine whether a full Occupational Therapy (OT) assessment is needed
  • Conduct full OT assessments as needed and ensure findings are included in the individual's Treatment Plan
  • Meet the client's goals and needs and provide quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results, determining appropriate occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription
  • Help client develop or regain physical or mental functioning or adjust to disabilities by implementing programs involving manual arts and crafts or practice in functional, prevocational, vocational and homemaking skills, activities of daily living, and sensory motor, educational, recreational and social activities
  • Promote maximum independence by selecting and constructing therapies according to individual's physical capacity, intelligence level and interest.
  • Evaluate results of occupational therapy by observing, noting and evaluating client's progress, and recommending and implementing adjustments and modifications
  • Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following case being closed by designing and instructing youth, families and caregivers in home exercise programs.
  • Act as member of mini-treatment team in accordance with treatment goals and planned activities/interventions; participate in outreach Care Teams as appropriate for individual consumers needing ongoing outreach
  • May transport clients as needed to support assessment and treatment goals

Your Background:

  • Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy 
  • Experience working with children (preferred)  
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
