Family Support Worker, FRC, Great Barrington

CSO is looking for a Family Support Worker for its Family Resource Center (FRC) in Great Barrington. This is a family centered program that serves families with children 0-18 years old.  We offer parenting programs, support groups, early childhood services, information and referral resources and educational support  for families.  We also provide access to information and assistance related to health care, safety, employment training, education, peer support and a place for families to relax and have fun with each other.  Our core values include a trauma informed approach as well as respect, trust, safety, wellness, caring, connectivity, and education. This position will work directly with families and children 0-18 yo and provide supports, information and referrals.  The Family Support Worker facilitate evidenced based parenting groups and participate in supporting the functioning of the Family Resource Center. 

Essential Responsibilities:

·  Provide information and referrals about community resources related to basic needs, family support, and health related services to support parents/caregivers/families.

·  Facilitate many types of groups and activities including occasional child care. 

·  Support development of FRC calendar of events.

  • Collaborate with community and families/youth regarding events.

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health discipline or related field, or Associate's degree and applicable experience. Minimum one year demonstrated experience working with children, adolescents and families, including experience navigating children's systems and supports within the community. Good listening skills; ability to establish trusting relationships through compassion, and ability to foster self-sufficiency in families using problem-solving skills.   Must be able to work a  flexible schedule which may an evening and limited weekend work. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
